Bring walking shoes for a stroll on our nature paths, rack your bicycles for long rides on some of our local paved county roads. Birder? Bring your bird book and binoculars because we have every type from common yard birds to exotic migrants. Got a fishing pole? If you don't mind catch and release, our bass-stocked pond is for you. Our woods and the surrounding area are always a photographer's dream in any season.
Want to sample Winnsboro restaurants or events? How about Cibo Vino Italian restaurant, Double C Steakhouse and Saloon, Winnsboro Bakery and Cafe, LouViney Cellars and Bistro in Sulphur Springs(yes, there are 3 wineries and vineyards in the area) or Peralta's Mexican Restaurant? The Copper Spa is full-service beauty salon. Crossroads Coffeehouse and Music Company has live music on the weekends. Trails Country Center for the Arts usually has an art show or music presentation going on. Quitman's Community Theatre puts on well-acted plays several times a year. Mt. Vernon has chamber music performances during the fall and winter months.

AUTUMN TRAILS IN WINNSBORO: More than 40 years of Autumn Trails tradition has made this event a fall-foliage spectacular. The month of October is given over to Queen-crowning , trail-riding, crafting booths, dancing, rodeoing, antique car parades and a whole lot more. Autumn Trails is only one in a long line of local festivals. Over in Quitman, the 106th plus Old Settlers reunion is celebrated in July, in September Sulphur Springs residents love their Hopkins County Stew Contest, Gilmer's East Texas Yamboree takes place in October, and in mid-winter, Lake Fork celebrates the bald eagle population with Eagle Fest.
